End of Summer Redesign Special!
Now through September 30 we are having a sale on web site redesigns and blog makeovers. If you have an existing blog or web site running on WordPress, CMS Made Simple, Movable Type, Expression Engine, PixelPost or TextPattern, take 30% off the price of a blog design (these run anywhere from $650 to over $1250, so the savings can be significant!). Just sign a contract before September 30, 2008. You must retain the same underlying CMS in order to take advantage of the sale.

Site Launch: Hastings Law Firm, P.C.
We were asked to set up a new web site for a local plaintiffs law firm. The requisites for the site were ease of updating, the ability to upload firm whitepapers, custom form development, and an easily updated News feature. We chose CMS Made Simple as the site’s content management system. All graphic artwork is by Pixelita’s Ivan Minic. Photography is courtesy Marmalade Photos. Coded with love by Joni Mueller.
Site Launch: Greater New Orleans Italian Cultural Society
We were asked to set up a new web site for a fledgling non-profit, the Greater New Orleans Italian Cultural Society. Like most non-profits, it will be updated by a staff comprised of volunteers of varying degrees of expertise on the Web. We decided to base the site on WordPress and employed the Event Calender, Role Manager, cFormsII and NextGen Gallery plugins. The NextGen Gallery plugin is also driving the Flash-based rotating banners. Banner graphics and all other site graphics are by Pixelita’s resident evil graphic artist, Ivan Minic. Coded with love by Joni Mueller.
Site Launch: CORECapital
We were asked by financial wizard Greg Wallace to create an investment site for him. We decided that CMS Made Simple would be the best solution to help him and his staff maintain the site once it’s up and running. We basically took a PowerPoint presentation and broke it down into static pages. There will be new Time Weighted Reports posted each month, so CMS Made Simple’s News module is perfect for that. All graphic artwork is by Pixelita’s Ivan Minic.
Upgrade to 2.5.1
Hot on the heels of the late March launch of WordPress 2.5, we have the first security upgrade. It’s urged that you upgrade from 2.5 to 2.5.1 as soon as possible. And for those of you running any other versions of WordPress besides 2.0.11, you should upgrade to 2.0.11 or 2.5.1 to avoid possible compromise of your web site. Remember that Pixelita Designs can upgrade your WordPress blog or site and work with you to find suitable replacement plugins if any that you currently use are not compatible with the latest version of WordPress. Contact us for your upgrade needs.
Site Launch: Dallas 24 Hour Club
We were asked to create a WordPress-powered web site for a Dallas, Texas 501c charity organization focused on helping recovering alcoholics and drug addicts get back on their feet and become productive once more. Because the site would be maintained by a handful of volunteers, it had to be user-friendly. We tweaked Darren Hoyt’s Mimbo magazine layout WordPress theme, adding Ivan Minic’s own unique graphics in the header and several custom buttons seen throughout the site. We used CForms II to create the intricate forms used in the Join and Donate pages along with the User Role plugin to help manage the various volunteers who will be helping to keep the site updated. We wish the Dallas 24 Hour Club the best of luck in its very worthwhile endeavors.
WordPress 2.5 Unveiled
After promises of a release earlier this month, Wordpress 2.5 (Michael Becker) is finally available for download here. Follow the carefully detailed upgrade instructions and you should be fine. Remember, we can perform an upgrade for you and troubleshoot any misbehaving plugins. And we are working to make sure all our previously released free WP templates play nice with this new iteration of WP.
Site Redo: Idylwood Civic Club
Pixelita Designs is pleased to announce the launching of the new and improved Idylwood Civic Club web site. Joni, being a resident of Idylwood, in Houston, Texas, was asked to serve as the Club’s web master and revamp the site. The Board members needed to be able to post news items and update the site themselves. They also wanted an Event Calendar, a Photo Gallery and backend support for private login. After a disappointing misstep with Drupal, Joni chose CMS Made Simple to drive the Club’s web site. She was able to tighten the overall design and give the Club exactly what it needed and wanted. Now they are able to maintain the site with ease.
New Office Hours to Better Serve You!
I’ve rearranged my “day job” so that I can be available during normal business hours for my clients. In the past, there have been many times when a client has needed to talk to me during the day and has been unable to do so. But now that I’ve switched to working nights, my days between 8:00AM and 3:30PM are now free to devote to web design, my husband and his myriad doctor appointments and other things I previously couldn’t do during normal business hours. I hope this helps deliver a better level of service to you.
