Site Launch: Parkway Utility District

Parkway Utility District

Parkway Utility District, Houston, Texas We were asked to design the site of Parkway Utility District, a Houston area municipal utility district providing sewer, trash pickup and water services to residents in northeast Houston. They required ease of updating by district board members, document uploads and some SEO. We chose CMS Made Simple because it has an intuitive User Uploads module and an easy to use backend that allows meta data on a per-page basis. Plus, there was talk down the road of a members-only login capability and CMS-MS has its wonderful Front End Users (FEU) module that would take care of that nicely. A custom PHP script calculates the District’s monthly board meeting date and displays it on the front page.

Site Launch: PBNetwork.com

Paintball Network [offline]

We were asked to create a forum for a paintball enthusiast site. In addition to designing the site, Ivan Minic was responsible for SEO, creation of custom avatars, custom forum smilies and five downloadable desktop wallpapers. Ivan also created a series of custom ad banners for the client’s use on the site (as can be seen at the top and bottom of the page) and made the site WAP-enabled for site visitors with the appropriate cellular technology. The site uses Simple Machines Forum along with Tiny Portal for complete forum and site flexibility.

Site Launch: The American Mind

The American Mind :: Reloaded

The American Mind :: Reloaded Sean Hackbarth was our first ever web design client. He approached us (doing business as webjones.org) in the Winter of 2002-2003 to design his Movable Type blog. Three years later, Sean is ready for a change, a broad sweeping change. He’s decided to switch from Movable Type to WordPress and has decided it’s also time for a design change. So we present to you the new and improved American Mind. Thanks, Sean, for your loyalty and repeat business and here’s to many more years of blogging! And thanks, Ivan, for the kick ass header graphic! The image is from iStockPhoto. The banner font is True Type 3 the Hard Way RMX.
