Site Launch: NAWBO-NYC Blog
We were asked to create a Movable Type-powered blog for the National Ass’n of Women Business Owners: New York City. They wanted to keep the NAWBO signature color pallette of emerald green, pale green and orange. Ivan Minic created all the graphic elements of the layout; Joni Mueller (a veteran of Movable Type blogs) tweaked the layout to run on MT and suggested several MT plugins that the NAWBO bloggers might be interested in.
Site Launch: Concrete Park
Tony Puryear, noted screenwriter, asked me to put together a web log for his current science fiction project, Concrete Park. He had his design already mapped out and supplied me with his original artwork which was then worked into a Movable Type web log to supplement his main site. The banner font used throughout the site is True Type Uptown. Front end and original music by Thom Collins.
Should You Upgrade to MT 3.2?
Six Apart has released the new and improved MovableType. This time, it’s version 3.2. Version 3.x is a year and a half old now and it’s gone through many changes. It looks like the folks at Six Apart listen to their product’s users. Because now, you can have unlimited blogs in the free version of MT 3.2. Before, you were limited to three blogs.
Site Redesign: Observations of a Misfit
misfitting.com [offline]
Loretta, at Observations of a Misfit, asked me for a site redesign and an upgrade from MovableType 2.64 to 3.15. I originally designed a feminine site for her using pink stripes and a rotating random image banner of floral images. Think Victoria’s Secret pink! Since that time, Loretta has swapped out the images and background. Still, she decided it was time for a whole new look. I designed three different skins for her, plus a bonus “Minimalist” imageless skin for PDA and low bandwidth surfers. She and her readers are quite pleased with the new looks. So am I.

Site Launch: Ski-Blog
Justin asked me to redesign his Movable Type blog, devoted entirely to the subject of skiing. He wanted a site with clean, crisp lines. I decided to employ a rotating series of banners to add some visual interest to the site, along with a rollover menu bar technique from List-A-Matic. The banner images are from StockExchange. They are also featured in Justin’s photo gallery, which also mirrors his blog design.
